Jazz Aspen Snowmass

Description:

Jazz Aspen Snowmass is a music performance and education organization. The educational component was added in 1996 as a vital programmatic format, through the establishment of the program which would become the JAS Academy, and shortly thereafter, the educational programs known as JAS LEI (Local Education Initiatives). JAS Local Education Initiatives complement existing public school music programs and replace programs where schools suffer losses in music education. These programs are reaching over 1,500 students annually throughout the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. The goal is to ensure that these schools maintain band and music programs in their curriculum.
